This project focused on flexibility and social activity in the home, while still maintaining private and delineated spaces. We opened up one side of the house entirely into a long room for gathering. Along this space, a media room and kitchen alcove are connected but tucked away, creating for a sense of togetherness and allowing for privacy.

This family wanted to be able to easily host friends and family day-to-day as well as for longer stays. The home is anchored around a long connected social space, split into three flexible spaces for living, dining, and library areas. Pocket doors create a second media room which can double as a guest room. And the kitchen alcove create connection but separation for a busy kitchen to be the center of the home.
